04 Aug 2017 Sunset

There is time to live, and a time to die.  A time to begin,  and a time to end.  The drawing of a curtain had mysteries beside each end. This has been,  is and always will. May be to the end. And speaking of endings,  one might expect sorrow, one might imagine joy,  but another soo complicated with his thoughts will smile. For what happened behind the scenes,  tells the true story.

We worked around the house today,  and Adrian's cart held the evidence. After which a last summer swimming could not be avoided.  All this was a chorus of our goodbye message to Switzerland, and our lovely host : Mrs.  Petitjean.
This day was marked with,  both the last breakfast and Last Supper.
God bless you Aunty Ruth.

03 AUG 2017 Rock and Roll

One of the oldest and difficult professions in history is quarry. Mountains have been flattened as our streets gets paved,  concretes get richer and pillars are strengthened.
No different from this is a quarry site owned by Mr.  Fritz Surer.
The quarry serves stones of different sizes for different contraction activities in Basel.
This was no "cool" place to be on Switzerland day with the highest temperature record. A real African sun this was.

Fortunately for us, we met Henry who took time to excort us around the quarry site.
The stones are brought off the mountain with bull dozer tracks with a kind of hammer drill bit.
No explosives -dynamites- are used in this site he explained.
He also explained how the stones are serperated after breakdown and crashing, according to their sizes and sand content.
Also exposed to, was the Galvanised iorn- zinc caged stone walls. They currently were preparing a large amount for noise dampling along the autobahn close to muttenz. He took time to enlighten us on the manufatury process.
Later in the afternoon, we met Aunt Verena and had a lunch buffet at a Chinese restaurant at liestal.
She gave us all wonderful presents. Presents that are even now,  very very much appreciated.
We had a surprised visit from her later the evening,  with her two dogs.
Another day,  full of surprises and joy this was.. A day of love.  God richly bless Aunts Verena.

02 AUG 2017 Basel City

"We traveled far with much energy and traveled near when weary"- Aidoo 2001.
even though we have driven to Basel city- i.e to Pearl shop, Zoo, etc- we never explored Basel City on foot.
In 2015, i did more exploration with Mr. Petitjean at Basel City. I was very glad today when places we couldn't access in 2015- like the Tower of the Basel Abbey - was accessible to tourist.
This time, i the trip was made with Miss Kathrine, Aunty Ruth's Sister.
I met her in 2015 and was glad to see her again. At 2015, we departed with no expectation to see each other again. But time and chance, says ecclesiastes , and time and chance was so evident.

We also took the furry from old Basel to new Basel.

01 Aug 2017 National Day

The National day atmosphere started with the sounds and flashes of fire works yesterday. It was another moment of its own, watching this up hill at Arisdorf. Basel city has been known for some time now in the world for putting up and displaying such a massive scale of fireworks in the city. Most citizens also put up private fireworks that presents a big change in this constantly quiet and silent atmosphere of Switzerland.

I also noticed that, maybe its not the Average citizen that might be closed, calm and isolated, but most people are so because of the massive amount laws checking them. Thus, one - am told- is not allowed to use certain machines or make certain noise during certain time of the day. The case was how ever different today when people are always allowed to lunch fire crackers into the sky. It was a very different atmosphere all over. At a point we felt it was over done by a close neighbors.
Mr. Fritz Surer invited to brunch on a farm close by. He sponsored all 6 of us for the brunch.
This was really a breakfast buffet we could help ourselves with all thy had, as many times as we could. Farmers around the whole Arisdorf community actually organised this together and am told they actually do this every year. This years brunch was also sponsored by MIGROS.
We had a nice walk time with Ben, the son of Kim.-whisper :the Canadians- haha..
And as much as he loves drawings, he also likes to compose music as i do. Canada does not have a long preserve tradition or cultural heritage as the Swiss and this was such a big change for him too. I think the preservation of the cultural heritage of a nation is significant to its growth, recognition and strength in the global world. This is also a great thing i have learnt from this country. From the alphorn festival, to the ski competitions and the brunch attended.
Later in the afternoon Raymond came around to meet Kim. Was also great to see this legend again.
We played triminos in the eveing together and Rested.
Another fulfilled day.

31 Jul 2017 Swift ReUnion

This morning we had a wonderful guest, Mr. Rafael. Rafael works as a Pastor at the Vineyard church and also as a deacon at the local church here in Arisdorf. We had a nice time discussion a large range of religious views.
I write this particular post a reminder and mark for all prophesy and word of knowledge declared on this day.
Later in the afternoon we received some Canadian guests here after general work was done here.
Kim stayed here with Mrs. Petitjean 31 years ago. Previously reunited through facebook,
she passed by for a two days stay with her. Joyful moments and memory recall was the theme of the day.
The things facebook can do..lol
