26 Jul 2017 Roll on metal, Skid on the Lac.

A rainy and mildly cold morning this was. And the weather report wasn't that encouraging. We arrived at Liestal before 9:00 am. Where we also met Aunt Verena. She came along with her two dogs.

The First destination of this trip was to Montreux . We picked up Mrs. Adelheid  at Olten, Also a friend of Mrs. Verena. Mrs. Adelheid's smile i still cant forget. We took a the longer route through the country side and farm lands.
This was more of a tourist route with a spectacular view of the country sides, water falls and different towns and villages.
The high speed train with the wisdom filled conversations with these women was a rear experience in my life.
Without words we get to learn from this association in a very humble and insightful way.
Visible and remarkable were farm lands, tunnels, mountains, old structures and Tourists from different countries. At Montreux we looked around the lake of Geneva.

We had pizza together and left for a boat ride around 14:30

We took the boat La Suisse from Montreux to Laussane. This waas and hour and fifeteen minutes ride.La Suisse (1910) is the grande dame of the Belle Epoque paddle steamers on Lake Geneva, Switzerland. It cruises mostly between Lausanne and Montreux.
We also had the chance to see how the engine coupled mechanical system moved the boat forward.
This was the first of the kind i actually witnessed.
This was a very wonderful day indeed.
It was a great experience to be upon the lake with such cool breeze and a bright and warm sunlight.
Not, aware that we were provided with a first class ticket, we restlessly wondered from one part of the boat to the other, trying to explore every part of it withing an hour. The secret is, open just any door, but not the ones with the name of the biggest city in Switzerland,: "ausfahrt"...haha..
After exploring Lausanne, we headed back home with a train to liestal. Along the way, we were much greatful to Adelheid's for here lovely gift.
We waved here good bye at Olten, as she continued to wave at us, while here train skid away.
-Anyway, i haven't forgotten the pizza at Montreux, you know i like pizza-
So at Liestal, Mrs, Verena also caught a bus to Seltisberg and we drove back home tired, trilled and amazed.
